After a winter break the Dolphins are back in the bay. If you were down Brixham today you have had chance to see them. The Dolphins come here regally each year and arrive around this time of year. They are not common but are a great sight when you’re out and about. Image by Julia Powell.

Apart from a few bass and wrasse, fishing continues to be quiet around the bay. Princess pier has been very quiet. A few wrasse and even a couple of baby conger have been caught from Babbacombe pier but nothing was being caught on floats. If you’re down by the waters edge keep an eye out for these magnificent jelly fish… I photographed the one above last year so it’s good to see they have returned. The stings are not powerful enough to harm us humans but you probably shouldn’t try touching them. They average around 90cm in width but the tentacles can be as much as 6ft (1.9m) long. […]
